What better reason to dive into the waters for a refreshing dip? In summer, for a peaceful swim, opt for areas away from the tourist crowds (many coves can be reached by boat) and avoid the major ports of Palermo, Milazzo and Messina. Sicilian beaches all have their own special charm. From the blue lagoon waters of San Vito lo Capo (favoured by tourists in the summer) to Scala dei Turchi (Agrigento) beach with its clear and less crowded waters, it would be hard to resist some time on the beach.
