Cacela Velha
Cacela Velha is a quick but a really picturesque stop off. This village seems almost too perfect to be true. Charming houses with immaculate façades frame plots surrounded with orange and olive trees. The view of the ocean in the distance is magnificent.
Lagos
Lagos is a very pretty city by the sea that has kept its authenticity and charm. It is around Lagos that we find the most beautiful beaches of the Algarve: Praia da Marinha, Benagil Cave, Praia do Camilo... A must do: the Percurso dos Sete Vales Suspensos (Hiking in the seven suspended valleys). This path,which runs along the edge of the cliffs for more than 6 kilometres, which also allows you to discover the incredible surrounding landscapes.
Faro
Faro is the largest city in the Algarve and the starting point for most trips. This pretty seaside city is worth spending a few hours to discover the Sé. Faro Cathedral, a superb monument that looks like a castle. Things to see: Capela dos Ossos which is a chapel containing more than 1000 skeletons whose bones decorate the walls.
La Ria Formosa
The Ria Formosa. For a total immersion in the heart of nature, plan an afternoon at the Natural Park of Ria Formosa. This natural park is a veritable maze of canals and swamps that covers more than 18,000 hectares. It is a paradise for ornithologists who can observe many different species of birds. It's possible to go on an excursion from Faro harbour.
