Le Damaraland
This region is quite surprising in terms of landscapes and offers an exceptionnally rich fauna and flora. Animals live in total freedom in the heart of this wild and arid environment: black rhinos, giraffes, zebras and oryx as well as the last elephants of the desert. Head out early in the morning for a safari ride with a local guide to try and catch sight of the remaining desert elephants. Further north of Damaraland, in the Kaokoland region, it's possible to spot other large animals crossing over the riverbeds and valleys.

Review
The word « safari » means « long journey » in Swahili, it's therefore necessary to prepare for this expedition in the best condtions.
Namibia is a sought-after destination as it offers wonderful safaris where it's easy to observe wild animals. Enjoy the journey with a local guide or take matters into your own hands and head off for an adventure.
During your safari in Namibia and generally speaking, it's important to always be respectful towards animals and nature. Stick to the speed limit, never leave your vehicule and always be patient and considerate towards all wildlife. Dawn and dusk are the best times of day to admire the playful light flickering off the surrounding landscapes. Don't forget to bring a good pair of binoculars and grab a guide that lists all the different wildlife in the area (available at the park entrance).
