The Big Buddha and Po Lin Monastery
The Po Lin monastery, located on the Ngong Ping Plateau on Lantau Island is one of the most popular Buddhist sites in Hong Kong. Sat on top of a hill, the enormous bronze statue is over 100 feet tall and towers over the surrounding environment. There are 268 steps to climb to get to the top and admire the views. There are also several hiking trails that will lead you through the jungle to beautiful viewpoints.
