Santo Domingo
Why not start by visiting the Zona Colonial, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where you can walk down the city's oldest street: La calle de las Damas, over 500 years old! Samana
The region of Samana is guarded from mass tourism and is mostly known for its dream beaches in Las Galeras and Las Terrenas. But Samana also offers the unique opportunity to observe humpback whales between January and March. This park, nicknamed “the Halong Bay of the Carribean”, is home to dense rainforest, mountainous landscapes and beautiful waterfalls. It's even possible to swim in the middle of the jungle, in the crystal clear waters of the El Limon waterfall that towers over 150 ft high.
